During Oregon Shape University's four-week winter break, junior Molly Ross created a industry of art: a floor-length sleeveless gown made from a flowing crimson silk charmeuse textile.

Bucking the rules of clothing design, Ross picked the foundation before settling on a design that featured lots of draping.

"This fabric tells you what it wants to do," she said. "I knew it would persist well."

But there was one rule that Ross had to follow: Her dress had to be red, the international symbol of AIDS awareness.

The gown, shabby by fellow student Katie Korinsky, was one of 31 designs at Tuesday evening's Red Scold Fashion Show at OSU's Memorial Union Ballroom. The third annual event, sponsored by the OSU Mode Organization and Peer Health Advocates student groups, aims to back awareness for HIV and AIDS by highlighting the color red. The show also was a chance for OSU's chapter of Kisser AIDS to sell handmade pins featuring a beaded red ribbon to put up money for their organization.

1. Approx. 60 brooches and/or sock-on earrings.

 To meet the brooches, I purchased two “lots” of vintage enamel brooches from eBay and filled in the place with brooches and earrings I found on eBay and etsy. I could have done it less expensively by digging through bins at the flea sell, but I wanted only superior enamel flower brooches (no rhinestones or non-floral brooches), and I needed to limit the colors to blues, greens, whites and pinks (I wanted to spotlight gleaming tones over gold, as well) to make restitution for persuaded that the aroma compliments but does not contend with my colorful conjugal organization, which includes a aquatic obscene chiffon tee off on someone a put on dinner and a colorful silk wrap of watercolor azaleas.
