BRUNSWICK An estimated $1.2 million scheme to resurface Pearl Road within the city limits is expected to begin in May 2012, megalopolis engineer Ryan Cummins said Dec. 19, after city body heard legislation establishing a “cooperation and consent” understanding between the city and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
“The latest schedule estimates construction starting in May and being concluded in late July,” Cummins said of the project, part of ODOT’s urban paving program. “The overall project is approximately $1.2 million, with the last ODOT estimate putting the burgh’s portion at approximately $530,000.”
An Ohio Public Works Commission give awarded to the city will cover $436,000 of the local costs. At the constantly of ODOT’s first estimate, roughly $425,000, city officials were self-confident the OPWC grant would pay for the city’s entire share of the propose costs.
“ODOT made a second estimate, based on the type of radical repairs to be done, and that estimate came in at $105,000 above the first estimate,” Cummins said.
